Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Connect Mzansi may collect, use, display, protect and retain personal information. For privacy requests, email info@futureinsights.co.za.
Information we may collect
During later phases, Connect Mzansi may collect information such as email address, optional phone number, province, city or town, education level, profile description, work-related details, account credentials, technical logs, device or browser data, cookies and security information.
Some fields may be mandatory for account operation or profile publication. Other fields may be optional and controlled by the user.
Public profile visibility
When profile functionality opens, users may choose to publish a job-seeker profile. Information selected or supplied for public display may be visible to visitors and searchers. Users expressly consent to that visibility when publishing a profile.
Public visibility carries risks, including copying, screenshots, scraping, unsolicited contact and redistribution by third parties beyond the platform's control.
Why information is processed
- Account creation and authentication.
- Profile publication and search.
- Security, moderation, fraud prevention and abuse response.
- Communication with users.
- Analytics, service improvement and technical maintenance.
- Legal compliance and dispute handling.
POPIA, consent and lawful processing
Connect Mzansi aims to process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013. Depending on the context, processing may rely on consent, contract-related necessity, legitimate platform interests, legal obligations or other lawful grounds recognised by POPIA.
Consent steps should make clear what information becomes public before a profile is published. Users should not publish information they do not want others to see.
Service providers and cross-border processing
Connect Mzansi may use hosting, authentication, database, analytics, email delivery, security and cloud infrastructure providers. Some providers may process or store information outside South Africa. Where this happens, Connect Mzansi will use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service and applicable law.
Cookies and analytics
The site may use cookies or similar technologies for security, analytics, performance and functionality. Where legally required, a consent mechanism should be provided before optional cookies are used.
Security and retention
Connect Mzansi will use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Information may be retained while an account is active, while a profile is published, as needed for safety and dispute handling, or as required by law. Deleted or deactivated profiles may remain in backups or audit logs for a limited period.
User rights
Users may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational limits. Users may also request profile deactivation or correction. Send requests to info@futureinsights.co.za.
Children
Connect Mzansi should not knowingly permit profiles by children without lawful authorisation. Age and consent controls should be confirmed before profile functionality launches.
Information Regulator
Users may have the right to complain to South Africa's Information Regulator. Current official contact details should be confirmed before full public launch.
Legal review and updates
This policy is drafted for the planned Connect Mzansi platform and should be reviewed by a suitably qualified South African privacy practitioner or attorney before full public launch. Updates may be made as the platform's functionality develops.
